At the top of the marketing funnel – at the widest part of the funnel – are the tasks you need to do to increase brand awareness. Getting people to notice and know about your brand requires that you know what they’re looking for, where they’re looking for it, and of course, the terms they use to find it.
Here are eight effective ways to increase brand awareness.
- Post Informational Blog Posts
Once you do enough keyword research, you’ll want to create blog posts surrounding those words. These are the terms that your audience uses to find out about their problem. You’ll want to post problem information that taps into their concerns and what keeps them up at night so that you can then turn around and offer them the solution.
- Partner with Influencers
A fast way to get noticed is to work with influencers. Find smaller influencers who have less than 100K followings and work with more of them. Find people who speak directly to your audience and who already like what you offer. Make it very easy for them by providing all the materials, so all they need to do is talk about you.
- Keep Your Branding Consistent
Whether your audience visits you on Facebook, or comes to your website, or gets an email from you, they should know it’s you. Work on your brand voice, brand personality, and mission so that you can convey it wherever you are.
- Start an Affiliate or Referral Program
An affiliate or referral program is a great way to increase brand awareness because you will have more than one person telling people about your offers. Provide graphics, email marketing content, and all the product information for your affiliates so that it is consistent through all marketing efforts.
- Guest Blog on Popular Authoritative Sites
Do you know where your audience gets their information? Submit ideas for guest posting on those authoritative sites. You can display your expertise and knowledge about your niche, as well as spread brand awareness through your bio at the end of every guest post you create.
- Repurpose Your Content
One of the easiest ways you have at your disposal to increase brand awareness is by strategically using the content you already create. Reuse the content by putting it into a different form. For example, if you have a multi-point blog post, you can turn that into several YouTube videos.
- Run Advertising Campaigns
You may not realize it, but one of the reasons brands run advertising campaigns is for brand awareness. The best type of advertising campaign to run with a small budget is a list-building campaign. Facebook advertising can get expensive especially when you are competing against big brands like Walmart so I would suggest Google advertising and Pinterest advertising to draw interest to a well-branded lead magnet.
- Be Active on Social Media
When you set up your social media profiles, make sure that the branding matches across channels. Not only should it match visually, but it should also match in terms of the words that you choose. The terms you use to speak to the personality of your brand. The more proactive you are with social media, the more people will notice you.
Increasing brand awareness requires that you get your information in front of your audience as many times as you can. Most people need between 8 and 14 touchpoints before they decide to purchase from someone they’ve never met. You can do this by focusing on your mission and keeping your image consistent.
